Which dimm slot?

Go to solution Solved by Popadookie,

The manual is recommending that to avoid conflict with large cpu coolers. Won't see any performance difference.

I had a build made up for me recently at the local computer shop. Been going with these guys for a while, I highly respect them.

However, I got my build home and noticed the dual memory sticks (corsair vengeance) were in slots a1 and b1 (asus z87 plus). The motherboard manual clearly recommends a2 and b2.

I asked the builders about it, and they were absolutely sure that a1 and b1 would give the best results.

I have no problem opening up the case and swapping them over, but the computer runs fine, and I don't want to end up running back and paying another fee because I didn't listen.

What would you do?

You want to be running both dimms on different memory channels.
