Upgrade help

Hello all, I hope you are having a wonderful day.

 

Now, I plan to do some upgrades this Christmas and I'm looking for some recommendations/suggestions as to what I should do.

1. GPU:

 - Currently undecided between a 1060 and 1070, I'm thinking of possibly switching to a 1440p monitor some time next year which leads me to the 1070 but It is a rather large price jump!

 

2 CPU:

3. RAM:

- All I have to mention on this is the fact I will probably upgrade to 2x8GB sticks of RAM.

 

This is mainly a gaming machine and I play a range from mmo's to shooters.

There won't be any issues with bottlenecking for a 1060/1070, watch this video for an example (though that is overclocked, so you might not get the same performance)

That CPU will still be good for quite a while, i'd only upgrade it if you feel you want a newer one.

1. gpu would go for the 1070 if you are running AAA titles on 1440p but if you dont play AAA titles that much the 1060 would be sufficient

2. cpu no need to be upgraded, if you really want to, go with the i7-3770k

3. ram yep probably will upgrade

I would go for the 1070, especially if you plan on gaming in 1440p. I would get 16GB of RAM. Make sure to enable the XMP!

Thank you for the help everyone! Now I just have to make the dreaded decision between 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz
