I'm honestly bored and its near christmas, 2 months :D, and I was thinking of what I should request for Christmas. My main idea is a 250 GB PNY SSD as an OS drive obviously, a mechanical keyboard, probably the k70 lux or Corsair Strafe, or Logitech G930 wireless headset. I really don't want to spend more than $80, and I'm open to suggestions for mechanical keyboards, I would prefer brown equivalents OR MX browns itself since I play CS:GO but im also a student so i will be getting into typing. Also for it to have a dedicated media control. FN+media controls would work, also RED LEDS/WHITE LEDS/ or no LEDS is a must. Blue LEDs are rubbish.

So what are your thoughts?

Quick someone suggest something more than $80

So is basically an $80 mech keyboard that is 100% pretty much has a horrible selection to choose from?

No. You'll get good value out of an $80 mech kb. Maybe the CM Storm Quickfire TK or G610 with Mx Brown. Both are full size. Also consider a non-rgb Strafe.

Its just people here like to 'K70' and disregard all criteria when asked to suggest a keyboard.

oh ok. i was mainly looking at the G610 browns.

If you don't already have an SSD, and you have a keyboard that works well enough, I'd go for the SSD.

Get the mech keyboard if you really think you are going to learn "real" typing and do it a lot. (Not hunt&peck typing the occasional paper.)

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i have a membrane keyboard :(

it's working for me at the moment, and honestly my boot times for windows is like  20-30 seconds which is sufficient. but i want the reliability of an ssd. i want a mech keyboard to feel pro :)
