I love gaming and I love laptops, but, why do most of these gaming laptops have these horrible design choices? As to which ones well...

1) Trackpad offset to the left.
2) Small/Uneven Arrow Keys.
3) Keyboard offset to the right because we wanted to sell a gimmick (AKA Macro Keys)
4) Optical Drives...seriously its 2016, how are these still a thing.
5) Garbage port placement.

     *Optimal port placement being:
        Back:
          +Power/DC-in Jack
          +Ethernet Port
          +Display Ports
          +USB Type C(Thunderbolt™ 3)
          +USB 3.0 Port

        Right:
          +USB 3.0 Ports
        Left:
          +USB 3.0 Ports
          +Audio and Mic Jack

My Favorite:

*Keyboard Layout - Alienware 13, simple and perfect. (Dell been using that layout for like over 6 years I think n_n)
*Trackpad Layout - EVGA SC17 and Lenovo Y910, trackpad out of the way as it should be.
*Port Layout - Sager NP9872 and New Alienware 13,15 or 17.

It is to make sure that when typing you don't trigger the touchpad as easily. When the touchpad is centered on the laptop with a numpad, you would have to in the end crack the palm rejection all the way up just to stop your cursor from randomly clicking shit by accident, or even your cursor just hovering around.

Hmmm I disagree with this. You know how Apple Trackpads almost never have this issue cause the drivers and hardware work properly? I just wish Windows laptops got their shit together with the trackpad.

IKR. The fucking Asus and Acer laptops still have these things holy shit.

I agree this annoys me as well. BUT I prefer to have macros on a keyboard with a numberpad to offset the core keyboard being WAY too far left.

But you do realise that Apple would never have the issue of trackpads offset to the left, right?

Cause they refuse to add numberpads to things -_- not even the old school 17in one.

How do you feel about Razer blades?

Very good design, best power brick design I have seen(its really small!). The layout on everything is pretty much on point. Uneven arrow key make those keys unusable for gaming. For example if I wanted to play a game like Undertale or Touhou I would be screwed. Also it gets quite toasty since it pretty much one of the smallest if not the smallest gaming laptop out there, maybe they could offset this by offering options with the GTX 960/965m but Razer is not exactly know for offering customization(they are offering 1080p screen option with their new models at least).

LOL, they went the other way and stuffed a 1060 in bit. GG
