This noctua fan got my attention it looks awesome just a question though im using a z170-A asus motherboard with 16 gb ram rip jaws dual channel does this fan fit?

They will fit fine, but it depends on your case. The d14 sticks out a little bit more than the 12s.

Does your ram look like this?Vseries.jpgIt'll fit no worries

Another thing with Noctua is that if you go to a new chipset (CPU and motherboard) they will send you new mounting brackets that fit a new platform in the future. They come with mounting brackets that fit on anything and everything.

Alright bet. Go to that exact same link (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/QqgCYJ) and see if you can fill in the rest of the parts that you'll have in your pc. It'll cross check everything to make sure it fits and works together. It'll give you the cheapest website too, but I only buy stuff from amazon and newegg. Hit up google maps and see if you have a Micro Center near you. That's really the best place to buy computer stuff, but they only sell in store, on location.

This is my computer: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/rnC8Z8 Everything I have works great for what I need.

Good luck. Come back to Linus Tech Tips if you have issues. YouTube can teach you how to do anything.

No, it's not. It's big, loud and overpriced at this point. The Deepcool Gammaxx 400 is the absolute best value cooler on the market, outperforming everything else in the class, being about as quiet as any of the others and coming in around $25-30. The 212 EVO is obsolete, and the only reason I'd ever recommend it--especially given Cooler Master's declining quality in my experience--is if it is the absolute only cooler that someone can get a hold of in their price range. Even then, it's not suitable for anything more than a mild OC on an i7.

The 212 Evo isn't that big. It sets the standard for a mid-sized tower heatsink that most matx to mid towers abide by.

There's no absolute best value cooler unless you're looking at a specific scenario at a particular time. Due to pricing and availability, different coolers will excel in value. The Kotetsu is a great example that will be often similarly priced or even cheaper than the 212 Evo outside of the US while being a tier or two above it performing similarly to the NH-U12S or close to and quieter than the H5 Ultimate.

There are also many situations where the 212 Evo is the only sensibly priced option.
