Currently on the market for a gtx 1080. I was thinking of going with EVGA SC or FTW, but after the overheating VRAM incident, I'm a bit hesitant. So I'm looking at my alternatives (which are MSI Gaming X or Asus strix). I've dealt with MSI customer service before and had no problems. However, I keep hearing some mixed reviews of Asus. In fact it seems they are known to have poor customer service. Just wanted to know if it's that bad.

SC

Sry but the SC is not a viable option this gen. Just get an acctually good design like the FTW if you go with EVGA.
The gaming X is a better card thatn the Asus Strix OC and the FTW ... get that.
My experience with Asus customer support - laptop department: I asked for something and was basically answered "Go fuck yourself 'cause we don't support Windows 10 on that device" although not litterally.

Speaking from experience? or is that sarcasm

No I am serious.

I love Asus. They always have all the Drivers and Utilities ready on the website for anyone. That alone doesn't sound like much, but other companies don't do it. Making it a headache if you want software/utilities that you lost when something happens to your laptop.

My Asus Z97-AR broke, so I sent it in for $8 worth of shipping. They sent me a BRAND new one within the next week or two.

If every component in my computer was Asus, I would 100% fine with that. xD

Because it is the freaking reference design ... with more populated power phases. If EVGA's design has is which are not proven by 3 users bitching about a card blowing up - this would be proven to me by higher RMA rates or higher amounts of replaced cards becasue of defects. If the custom design blows up the the reference design might blow up just aswell

Well, I mean you do apparently have a  ASUS GTX 980Ti Strix OC , but I guess you were just less fortunate than me. OnePlus has a terrible reputation as far a shipping goes, but I never even had a problem.

Funny that I received my "fuck off 'cause we don't support" for that exact category ... But go on while I get myself some popcorn and a forest of facepalms.

I feel like I am being judged because Asus never gave me a problem before. I don't know if you guys are just salty are what. The guy asked if Asus had good support, and from My experience they did.

i have the 980ti strix because i bought it second hand and i had a good deal on it and it looks awesome...i bought it mostly for the look of it but the card is loud and hot it's really not a good version of the 980ti and id trade it for an msi gaming card any day of the week.

honestly man, get the MSI card...it has super good quality dual ball bearing fans and two huge fans that move a lot of air on it it will be quieter and cooler the twinfrozr cooler is amongst if not the best one. My strix card ain't that great.
