A bit over budget, so if you can't afford the extra 30 pounds get a board with 2 RAM slots. You can also consider getting a 120GB SSD instead of the hard drive if he doesn't need that space now and can get a hard drive later.

 

Chose the i5 so that if he ever considers getting a better video card in the future he will be well covered.
