BIOS Update Error! Help!

Well crap. Okay, then, in that case, I'll have to find something else that'll specifically work with AHCI; Maybe a Linux Live distro with SMART tools on it. Anyway, for now, go ahead and reset the boot mode setting to UEFI and move on to Memtest86. It'll take a couple of hours to properly show whether or not there's any issues with your RAM.

NO NEED OF THAT! OMG! IT BOOTED UP NORMALLY AFTER CHANGING BACK TO UEFI! OMG OMG OMG!!!! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP @Runefox!

I just updated my laptop's BIOS from v1.09 to v1.13. However, after the update, I get the message in the screenshot below. I have tried pressing Enter and F8 but it shows me the same screen. The only one that works is Esc which leads to the BIOS, but after exiting the BIOS, it just brings me back to the same screen. My laptop model is an Acer Aspire E5-473G-50RY. I got the update from the Acer website. My SNID is 53002462134. HELP!!!

This is why you don't update BIOSes unless you absolutely have to.

Try making some recovery media and booting from it, see if you can repair the Windows installation. There's a possibility the laptop is bricked though.

Where do I get recovery media? By the way, it turned off by itself after leaving it alone for a few minutes. :(

You're going to have to make a recovery USB or DVD. I assume you were using Windows 10?

There are several pages of the BIOS. Do you want all of them or just the "Information" page?

Sounds like you'll need to either grab a Windows 10 disc / install USB drive to run startup repairs, or you'll need to do a factory reset by holding ALT and pressing F10 repeatedly at the Acer splash screen. Not quite sure why it would be doing that after a BIOS update of all things, though... Might also want to try running a copy of SeaTools for DOS on your hard drive just to be sure everything's OK.

(Cross-posted from the double-posted thread)

Important: You'll need to set a supervisor password and disable Secure Boot in the Security section of your BIOS first before you can run SeaTools.

Ok, time for some updates. I've downloaded the Media Creation Tool and downloaded Windows 10 onto my 4GB flash drive. It took up 3.5 GB of space. Now, I plugged in my USB drive and went to the BIOS to put it at top priority (Screenshot below), but I still get the same damn blue screen after doing so. Please help!

in a nutshell.... the CMOS "chip" is where the bios settings are stored and all the important stuff that allows the laptop to boot up.

After a BIOS update it needs to be reset to default values (Sometimes it is recommended that it be done before an update) so that the new bios can update properly.

On a regular desktop system you would unplug the power supply, switch the "jumper" on the CMOS header push the power button and remove the CMOS battery and wait a few seconds. Re-install the battery and put the jumper back on to the "normal" position and power the system back up. That is pretty much the way a desktop unit bios is reset.

With all of that being said, Have you tried to load the set up defaults in the exit screen and tried to reboot?

You need to set Supervisor Password to disable Secure Boot with Acer laptop. You can remove/disable the password after that.

About your problem i think you need to run some "Bootrec" or BCDBOOT" command to restore the missing files with Window Installer disc/usb.

You'll want to choose Erase all Secure Boot Setting. That should switch it from Standard to disabled with any luck. If you want to restore Secure Boot later, you can use the Restore Secure Boot to Factory Default item.
