So IDK where to put this so general seemed good enough. I'm going to buy parts soon and want to know, what has better online deals for PC parts, black friday or cyber monday? Ya I know you would think cyber monday but just want to make sure. Thanks for replying in advance.

I'd go to Newegg and take advantage of any Price Match Guarantees. Buy the item on Black Friday or whenever and if the price drops on Cyber Monday or later, just file the claim.

I've often heard that Black Friday and Cyber Monday don't yield many good deals when it comes to computer hardware... it's often the weeks leading up to it where you can find the best deals.

For instance, this week, there was a MSI RX 480 Gaming X 4GB that went for $165... and a Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro 4GB that went for $245... both on Newegg.

Yes. PMG is good up to 30 days, IIRC. You can only do it once though, but it is worth it.

also does anyone know how much the sales usually are on parts? a percentage prehaps.

I've seen the best deals going towards storage and GPU's.

That's statistics, but nice try...

Probability focuses on how long until a certain event occurs because it will occur.

Statistics focuses on events and how often they occur or whether two events are dependent... Statistics is very broad and I'm not typing an essay again.

Well, you are saying that bottleneck is not an even that can be occured? Why out of sudden are we talking about something irrelevant?

I would frequently check the Slickdeals.com or the buildapcsales subreddit... those two sites seem to be the best sources when finding sales.

Now, if only if there was another sale for the Sandisk 960GB SSD... which went for $165 last time.

Probability is how many times an event will happen given a certain situation. Statistics is basically the study of analyzing large volumes of numbers for patterns, and the collection of that data

Best way to explain the difference is that prob explains the future, for example, risk management, while statistics deals with patterns emerging from past events.

IIRC, my professor used a coin flip as an example. Statisticians would wait to find the pattern while probabilists (?) would think that the odds were 1:1.
