Laptop recommendations

So, my work gives me a thinkpad w541 - 32gb ram, i7 4790 vPro, and a quadro m4000 - but i don't want to use that when im programming on my own projects since the company doesn't like their employees using their laptops for non work reasons - my budget is around 1500 canadian dollars and i need something with about 5-8 hours of battery life - good performance - 16 gb of ram - and a gpu isn't really necessary since ill be programming - if any  fellow programmers have their own personal favourites that aren' 3000 dollar thinkpads - thanks - and if anyone can find a thinkpad within 1500 CAD that fit my needs - many thanks to you

i've used thinkpads from 1996 up till now - favourite laptops - although a 16b ram and i7 6600u thinkpad costs around 2 grand

I literally just linked you the sale. you can pick up a T460p for 1400. And you can add a stick of ram yourself. Brings it up to an even 1500 with quad core and thinkpad warranty.
