Monitor doesn't go into standby after shutdown

JK, FIXED IT, JUST RETARDED

So I'm probably just a little retarded, but I can't find the answer to my question after a few minutes on google, and I'm a little impatient.

A few months back, when I would shutdown my computer, and the display would lose input, it would go into a sleep mode, that being the power light goes orange, and the display shuts off, until if detects a new input. Now, it has stayed on after I shut down my computer. I have unplugged the DVI cable, and it doesn't do anything different, so it is not my computer. I'm just wondering what setting on my monitor I need to change, because I changed anything that would affect it, and nothing is different.

Look through monitor settings eco settings for a setting called sleep on input loss.

so what was the problem? For future reference?

To fix it, turn on power saving.
