Razer Tiamat 7.1

hello people,

 

so i bought the Tiamat 'bout a year ago and i'm very happy with it. although i had to get used to the sound alot in the beginning (i think you know what i mean if you have these or other true 7.1's). but my question for all the Razer Tiamat users out there is: what do YOU think of this headset? price/performance? performance? durability? comfort? etc et

Well, let's break it down.

• Durability: The first pair I had broke down within a month. The second pair still works, but the mic is crackling as all hell. Luckily, I got my pair for free from Razer.
• Comfort: They're a bit heavy, but overall I can't complain.
• Performace: Let me put is this way. If you took a pair of Audio-Technica M50Xs, strapped them to the outside of a tin garbage can and you then jump into the garbage can and turn on the music, then you have the sound of the Tiamat 7,1s. And that's not even getting into the timing issues there is between the drivers. 
• Price: Look above ↑. All of that can be yours for $200. Let's just say you'll be better off with a pair of DT990s or HD558s and a desk mic.

every person that knows something about audio.. They are shit in every single way, overpriced as fuck, low audio quality for the price, badly build. Heck there is this ongoing joke among audio people that you cannot get worse audio quality than what razer makes

The Tiamat is a great headset. Best use of money. It really works. My friend actually bought one, i laughed at him for months and i still do. Best entertainment your friends will ever get.

LOL! I've never actually seen one in person. But yeah, as has already been said in this thread, they are utter garbage.

They have tiny cheap drivers in each ear cup that sound awful and can't even product a decent "soundstage". "True" 7.1 headsets like this have all bin awful and not worth even $50.
