no sound from pc

i booted up minecraft and there was no sound. I then played a youtube video and it worked fine. I have restarted my computer 3 times and no fixes. Eerything is up to date so its not a drivers thing. HELP!!!

Have you made sure that the volume within Minecraft is up?

 

EDIT: Also, check Sound playback by right-clicking in the taskbar on the sound icon, and then clicking on the top. Ensure that the volume for Minecraft is as high as you want it.

are you sure someone didn't screw with your computer and screw with the settings in realtek or whatever audio manager you use

Try this: Launch Minecraft, then right-click on the volume icon in your system tray and click on Open Volume Mixer. Find Minecraft in the listing, and check that it isn't muted or that its volume isn't turned down.
