Hi all,

I would like some feedback concerning my rig i ordered yesterday

6700k

gtx 1070

2 HDD

1 SDD

16 GB ram

No other cards/components on the mobo

I have a Corsair CX600M , I know its not a high quality PSU but I already own it since 2 years ,

I am wondering if I should change the PSU or if its still good enough and I am paranoying for no reason ? I don't plan to SLI or add other components but I do OC my cpu and gpu a bit..

What you guys think ?

Its a fine PSU it will work but if you want to do any heavy OCing i would get a RMi or RMx PSU

Most people are going to recommend getting a new psu, especially if it is the older green one, it isn't the worst possible psu, but there are better options especially if that psu is older.

But if you plan on overclocking much I would recommend a simple seasonic 400-500w psu.

Can't really give good feedback on the specific parts sense the brands and models weren't listed but it's a decent balance. If it was strictly for gaming you could have gotten more performance/dollar with a i5 6600k + GTX 1080 and just upgraded to a Kabby Lake i7 in the future. The PSU should be changed, a CX 600 with a high end build is just a crime against the PC Master Race, bit of an exaggeration but the build quality is just poor. No okay quality PSU is likely to explode in 2 years unless you max out the power 24/7 but that doesn't mean its safe to keep it until a capacitor goes nuclear and wrecks your motherboard or worse.

I said I was going to OC a bit.. not huge OC.. like.. small oc...

It seems balanced, any more feed backs ?

Im still not sure about if I shud change it or not.

PArts brand arnt listed because i tho it was useless to name em..

Dont want feedback about the brands or rest of the PC but mostly the issue is IDK if I shud change the PSU or not, is it a waste of money to change it ?

It's a decent system... Imo, I wouldn't be changing the PSU, it is good enough for what you need it and with no crazy OC, I really don't think that it can cause any problems. You can always leave it for the time being and upgrade later. I would much rather spent that extra cash on a new set of peripherals or something like that instead of a new PSU.

PS: 2 years old is nothing for a PSU. Mine is almost 8 years old an is still going strong.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here

That's what I tho... I will test the PSU with a PSU tester before I install the new components to make sure its still fine and will keep it.
Sounds like a good idea hehe
