Asus PG278Q LED Ring Mod

I have recently bought an asus rog swift PG278Q.

 

However the set up is white and black

 

With this in mind the RED LED of the light in motion on the base of the stand is an eye sore.

 

Has anyone managed to change the color of the LED, if so how?

Looks to me like the acrylic Ring is Red and inside of it is a White (i think so?) LED. So i'd just have somebody 3D-Print a new, clear acrylic Ring and swap them out?

I have it turned off for now until i find a suitable way to re-colour it

Just surprising that no-one has tried/done this before, cant find anything about it online

I'd imagine that's because Red is pretty much the color theme of 90% of average PCs out there so there's not really a need for it. Most Mainboards, GPUs and even some Keyboards come mostly with Red accents or LEDs. But i'd imagine that swapping out the acrylic Ring won't be that hard to do, you'd probably just have to be carefull not to rip apart the LED-connector when disassembling it.

I'd disagree with 90% but i guess red is a common theme but I'll look into swapping the ring out and feedback anyluck that i get with it

just turn it off.

 

otherwise, i think the LED underneath is white but the plastic ring is red i think.

The problem with ROG is that its main theme is Red and Black, that's why I was glad they announced the more neutral Mobo's
