Gaming PC build help! Spend more on keyboard?

You could probably find a cheaper mechanical keyboard but I would definitely recommend a mechanical since I just upgraded and I love it way more than my membrane one.

As long as budget allows. If you can get a 1060 in replace with a cheap keyboard that would be better

Yes I can get a 1060 if I replace the keyboard, but I'm not looking for insane performance. Do you still think I should replace it?

Are you being sarcastic? Prices in India are more due to the tax and import fees.

I understand, but the prices you quoted are better than anything I can find in amazon.in

So I'm not sarcastic lol. Just looking for the best value

Try to avoid amazon as much as possible, find the cheapest from one of these websites-

http://www.theitdepot.com

http://www.primeabgb.com/

http://mdcomputers.in/

and finally amazon

Personally I prefer The IT Depot.

Hi,

Since I have had a mechanical keyboard I have loved the feel of it, I did find to start with it was a bit odd and I typed a bit slower however I have been able to get used to this and my laptop keyboard using both seems fine. The keyboard is a high profile Corsair K70 RGB Cherry Reds and the laptop is a very low profile membrane keyboard. I don't mind either way but find it nicer typing on a full sized keyboard which is even nicer when it is mechanical, however I will say that it is loud and so can annoy other people.

Yeah, it should be good enough. Laptop hdds are usually slower though (doesnt really matter since you have an ssd for the os), but they also make less sound.

Yeah you can use that :)

Try this case it's the mATX version and cheaper https://www.theitdepot.com/details-Corsair+Carbide+Series+SPEC-M2+MicroATX+Gaming+Case+(CC-9011087-WW)_C5P26262.html

If not the SPEC-03 is cheaper at 4165 at itdepot https://www.theitdepot.com/details-Corsair+Carbide+Series+SPEC-03+Orange+LED+Mid-Tower+Gaming+Case+(CC-9011054-WW)_C5P27429.html

The same DDR4 kit is cheaper here http://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/corsair-vengeance-lpx-8gb-ddr4-2400-mhz-memory-cmk8gx4m1a2400c16r-copy/

This i5 is the best deal i think http://mdcomputers.in/index.php?route=journal2/quickview&pid=4661

(it will depend on games, but perhaps an i3-6100 + higher-end GPU makes more sense for you)

See if with those savings you can squish a GTX 1060 (even the 3GB is fine, you might have to lower settings here and there from time to time but that's fine).

You should check to make sure it has the right connections, some laptop HDDs have these strange ribbon cables

I've never used a mechanical one, what's your opinion?

Thanks!

Also if you are going mainly for functionality, then there isn't a point in spending a lot of money on a nice mech keyboard in my opinion. They are a nice thing to have, but not needed

--> Holy Sh!t that keyboard is expensive as fk ...... my friend has the tvs electronics mechanical keyboard with genuine cherry mx blues switches costs just 2,000₹ might get it even cheaper if you look in stores its great!!  ..... and if you want something with backlight i bought the redragon k551 for ₹3,500 in amazon sale but i have seen it on sale many times it costs 60US dollar so was actually cheaper in India than US and it is amazing.

--------------> Right now the k553 model is on sale so pick it ASAP!!!!

k552 and k551 will also go on sale today if you missed the above.

Honestly... I wouldn't waste the money on a mechanical keyboard unless:

-you are a professional typist

or

-you already have pretty much a maxed out configuration

But having it chip away money from your actual computer budget makes no sense. I'd rather have a graphics card or CPU upgrade than a fancier keyboard. Even the cheap 12 dollar logitech ones type and game just fine.
