Hello! Does anyone have any clues as to WHEN in October Samsung's 960 (The EVO is specific) SSDs are coming out ? I mean the month is already almost over

They will come out soon. I can't say exactly when due to errors in the nexus time flow.

Sadly we don't know when it will be out. The only info we got is "October 2016". The date on some Swedish websites is estimated to be ~10 November though, so it might have been slightly delayed.

If he's getting a new SSD, why not wait a couple of weeks for the latest model. The pricing should be pretty comparable with the 850 evos right? There probably will be a small performance bumb as well, not sure if it's going to be noticeable though.

The 960 is a high performance NVME M.2 SSD which is 2x the cost of regular sata SSDs.

Unless he is a content creator or data analyst or something like that there is no point in wasting so much money on a fast drive because he will not notice a difference.

Regular games and programs cannot use that much speed.

 

A sata SSD would be a much better option because you can either save money or get a larger size for the same cost, and a larger size is a lot more important for a regular consumer.
