Introduction category

I think maybe when should add a introductions category to the forums in the general discussion tab. It will give the users a little bit of insight to the new users.

Plus any other would go under Off topic anyway, because they are really good places to spam/post farm.

I mean a dedicated one where all it is, is introductions. It introduces a place for introductions without cluttering the forums.

What do you mean by that? Like have direct link from top nav?

No. You know like the pinned threads? Kind of like that but when you click it, each individual user can create a new post introducing themselves.

And the link I posted differs how? I seriously don't know what you mean by category in this case. Threads allow users to post in them, kinda point of those. We have already thread where people tend to post such introductions. I don't understand what would you like that would be significantly different and make sense.
