Would there be a way to format it so that I could use it like a normal hard drive and not have what was left on it?

Yes, just format it :P

I have a hard drive laying around from a previous laptop.  If I were to put it in my new computer, would it be formatted, or would the information stay the same.  Keep in mind it has Windows installed on it as well as a ton of Steam games and whatnot.

The information would still be there, but you more than likely wouldn't be able to boot off of it (at least not without a ton of driver issues), but all the data on it would still be accessible.

LOL I feel like an idiot rn, someone once told me I have to do something special to format it

But this was back when when I first was getting into computers.

Thanks man

So you know what do to. I can't tell if sarcastic or not. It should be right click on the drive iirc
