Microphone recommendations (plus a boom arm and pop screen)

Cereal5

Hey LTT,

Recently been looking to upgrade either my headphones or my mic (i currently use a turtle beach headset) so I decided to upgrade my mic first and my headset later to a nice pair of headphones. I don't know a whole lot about mics in general - brands, modes, usb vs whatever-other-kind-of-connector-there-is - but I was hoping I could get some direction from here. I liked the sound of the Editors Keys SL600 until I saw it was $300. The Audio-Technica AT2020 looks like a much better pick at $100 and also sounds pretty good. I would use it for streaming and youtube videos only pretty much.

1. Is it reasonable to expect to get a good mic under $100?

2. How about an arm/screen, how much are those?

Thanks :)

$100 is the minimum for decent microphones IMO. I have a Blue Yeti and I LOVE it especially since it's USB and I don't have to run it through my interface. For convince I'd say the Yeti but the Yeti and AT2020 sound very similar. I was not disappointed in the Yeti though

EDIT: Also the Yeti has controls for pick up pattern and gain which is a plus, as well as a headphone jack

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)
