so r u wanting to add the ssd with ur current or replace ur ssd, a good inexpensive is a PNY CS1131, has great speeds and reliability for the cost

1st u will want to create an image backup of ur OS if that is what is on the SSD, u can use Macrium Reflect to clone ur drive and create a bootable media, u will want to put it on an external drive unless u have another drive in ur system

2nd u will want to pull ur computer apart and replace the SSD with new one, then boot up with the created bootable media, then restore the image to ur new drive and u r done

My PCPartPicker - 1st Build

Samsung SSD's are some of the best selling out there currently, the 850 EVO is a really good unit. Just to mention though for games SSD's don't provide performance gains, other than load times.

I currently have a Samsung 840 EVO 500 gb, I want to buy a samsung SSD with 500GB or above what would you recommend. And also how would you install it?

MOTHERBOARD:  Asus Sabertooth X79 MOTHERBOARD

GRAPHICS CARD: MSI GTX 970 4gb OC EDITION

I would just keep what you have if your not having any issues with that SSD the 840 EVO is still a great unit it wouldn't need replacing, as for installing it you would plug sata data and power to it and either clone the current drive over or put a new install of windows.

I don't want to replace I want to add, because im almost out of space and i want to buy some more games soon, so i want to add another SSD, still keep the other one in, and just use the new one for future games.

You could put your SSD as a boot drive and get a HDD for the games and mass storage since games don't see much benefit from an SSD.

all you have to do is get yourself another sata cable, and another sata power, which you should already have because your other hard drive will you be using one, and there are usually 4-5 of the same plugs on one power supply cord. plug both in to the new ssd, and then restart your system, one logged in left clock the winodows logo, and click on disk management, and then you will see the new ssd as "unallocated" and then you left click it and "simple volume" and literally just keep hitting next then finish, and youre good to go. although, i would buy an ssd, and clone it from your old hdd, then use the ssd as your primary, and your old hdd and your bulk storage, you will get alot more efficiency and speed that way. i can walk you through it.
