I upgraded my cpu sometime last year to a core 2 duo e8200 and now i want to upgrade it to a core 2 quad q6600. I currently have a 250 watt psu (I know, it's pretty bad but it does power my gt 630 pretty nicely). So my question is, will the cpu work with my system?

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

Okay, i was a bit worried because i didn't want to replace my psu and get one ordered because my cpu just came to day and want to use it. :P

Yeah, the socket is the same, and the TDP is low enough to not cause any problems.

My 6600K and 970 draw only 300W
