Eeeey guys!

I've recently got a GTX 1080 Founder's, which led to me saving up for a PC,

so after working my ass off during my Vacation I gathered 2300 Euro's, which is my Budget.

So since I'm fairly new I was wondering if u guys could help me choose the components.

I have a few things I wanted, so it would be nice if u could consider these things;

- I'm going for a Black with Silver Accents and RGB LED's (for changeable Color Combo's)

(This led me to the Maximus VIII Formula and Corsair Dominator Platinums, of which I know theyre overpriced)

(And maybe the Dark Base Pro 900 Silver aswell)

- I might be looking into a Custom Loop, or atleast an AIO (don't want huge Fans)

- It's main purpose is High-End Gaming and some 3D Rendering (CS:GO-ish), 2K Video and 4K Photo Editing

(Maybe the 6700K or 7700K, because the main purpose is Gaming, don't really mind Render times)

- Good Overclocking Capabilities and it also has to be fairly quiet

- I don't mind saving up and working 2 month or so more for the Periperals

(I own a Samsung SyncMaster 2032BW, and Mid-Range Logitech Mouse and Keyboard)

- And probably a Samsung or Intel SSD, don't know what Size yet

- Asus Mobo (Only heard good Stories)

- I'm going to Create my own PSU Cover

I would really appreciate if u guys could give me some Tips and Ideas;

and if u have a build in Mind, please send me a PcPartPicker Link, I think German version comes the closest in Prices!

Thx for helping me out!

If you don't mind waiting, I would just wait a little bit for Kaby Lake. Those CPU's are powerful, I believe over 10% faster then the previous gen with a higher base clock. Who knows, with a custom loop you might even be able to get it to 5GHZ.

Main Rig

CPU: Ryzen 2700X
Cooler: Corsair H150i PRO RGB 360mm Liquid Cooler
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair VII Hero
RAM: 16GB (2x8) Trident Z RGB 3200MHZ
SSD: Samsung 960 EVO NVME SSD 1TB, Intel 1TB NVME

Graphics Card: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080Ti OC

Case: Phanteks Evolv X
Power Supply: Corsair HX1000i Platinum-Rated

Radiator Fans: 3x Corsair ML120
Case Fans: 4x be quiet! Silent Wings 3

In addition to that, Zen could be another option if they end up being better performance per dollar over Kaby Lake or Skylake.

That's a reality too aswell. However, realistically, it's not going to happen. AMD have to play so much catchup, they are generations behind Intel, and with the ( i think ) 15% increase over last gens with Kaby lake, the gap is even further.

True, at the moment the only thing AMD has on them is the newly discovered Intel security vulnerability to malware.

You say you already have the 1080? I wouldn't wait for Kaby lake, cause you end up in the waiting game and in the meantime your GPU is losing its relevance with the 1080ti hinted to arrive in the new year, probably around the same time as kaby lake. Can you return the 1080 and add the money to your budget? In the mean time its pretty safe to buy your motherboard, case, psu, ram and storage drives.

I don't think the 1080ti really makes the 1080 less relevant, it's still a ridiculously powerful card. Also, Kaby lake is much closer then next year, I think Intel guarneteed release before the end of the year. You can even pre-order it from some sites.

Also, idk if there's any point buying other components now. Prices aren't going to go up, especially since Cyber monday / black friday are close.

You say this but then say hold off on Skylake, its pretty much the same thing :), we always tend to end up waiting for the next big thing. I'm just saying if the OP is going to wait for Kaby then I would be tempted to hold on a little more for the Ti if it is in the OP's budget and IF the OP can return the 1080.

EU/UK don't really benefit too much from black Friday, its more of a marketing Gimmick/advertising. However I do agree that the prices prob won't go up, but I was thinking more along the lines of build the base of the PC, then ask for money only at xmas to buy even better stuff to add to the major components in the new year :D
