I have a water cooled system and the other day when I was benching in futuremark and unigine I heard a definite buzzing and hissing noise from my gpu.  Any ideas what this could be?

I haven't been benching for a while and I recently moved somewhere much quieter, no aquariums etc.

Asus 1070 FE with decent memory OC and mild gpu OC.

Audio go Brrrrrr

Guessing it was coil whine, a noise some cards make when under benchmarking/heavy loads. For that, it's luck of the draw. Sorry man...

Just now, Psittac said:

Somehow I saw that video and for some unknown reason figured coil whine was a fan thing. Meh.  Tyvm for the info

If it's that, tinkering with the Vcore and core / memory clock of the GPU might help. Run your computer without the GPU (load it with all manner of bench) to confirm that it's not anything other than it.

And unfortunately, there is no solution to coil whine other than try to get an RMA.

Today I got a cheap power conditioner which doesn't say it is for PC, but I figured it might help (didn't want to do a lot of research as initial result's showed $500+ usd in cost) But considering I have had noise on my HT I figured this would help. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BQ91Y6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll run some benchmark's again to see if it made a difference.  Also maybe it's my 850 evo ssd's........ don't think it's my mobo

Yeah, now that I have that conditioner it's very subtle.  I just ran time spy and could hear a direct correlation between gpu intensive moment's vs letting off the load.  I had to put my head up to the case (side panel off both times) to hear it.  W/O the conditioner I could easily hear it in my chair, with the conditioner I had to lean up next to it to hear it.
