This is getting unbareable

Hello,

Computer Specs

CPU: AMD - FX8320

GPU: Gigabyte gtx960

Motherboard: Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 r5

Ram: 8x2 gb ram

Hard Drive: Toshiba 1TB

PSU: Corsair cx750m 80 bronze rated

Mouse: Razer Taipan

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate

So whenever I am doing anything, even just on the desktop it like its timed. It even happening when I'm typing this. Every about 1-3 minutes everything freezes and my mouse lags behind. This happens even more frequently when I am recording, and so far with typing this it has happened 5 times. just a 5 second lag and my mouse is slow to catch up. I did sfc /scannow and nothing popped up. When these "swells" their is no spike in anything I can see. Please help I just upgraded and am very unhappy.

Thank you in advance :)

He wasn't asking for explanation but rather pointing to what might cause your issues. And I agree with him, it's either your HDD, memory or something software.

Also, what's your OS and version?

sounds like a bad RAM stick or it might just be loose, could also be storage though.

Edit: Also how do you have 8x 2 GB sticks in that motherboard? or is it 2x8 GB?

Had something similar on my desktop, it was because of Windows 10 P2P update crap, that's why I asked about the OS! :)

true, software can cause a lot of stress over nothing. I disabled my updates for W10. I'm on build 1607 and will most likely stay there. (aniversary update) and on my other system I didn't even do the ani update and I'll most likely stay on that build there. only reason I did the update here was for this..

@Zavesh sorry for the small hijack!

Like said earlier, it could be different things, one software that help in these case that I forgot to mention is LatencyMon, you should try and have a look, you're probably going to find at least one source of why your system experiences those stutters;

Can you just make a test on that?

What refresh rate are you using? -i'll say 60Hz

Go on GPU control driver application (Nvidia control panel), and where you set the resolution and the refresh rate, select 24Hz (or any other refresh rate compatible with your display and GPU). The display will turn off, and then on again, and you'll be at 24Hz. After that, set it again at 60 Hz.
Let me know if this solved your problem (it will be back again at the next reboot)

I just lowered the refresh rate to 50hz (Lowest the monitor will go), will see if it helps, ty.

Oh the monitor is "Asus VX248"

@Shingouki Do you agree with everyone else that It could be my cpu? What do you think could be, it would really help?

Actually i don't know, i have the same issue. It happened after the major update with windows anniversary.

I don't think (at least in my case) that is a CPU issue because i don't have problems with other OS, only on Windows 10.

By any chance, do you have XMP enabled for your RAM in your BIOS? I've been finding that I've had pretty poor luck getting memory to run at XMP-rated speeds recently (my 2x16GB kit of G.Skill DDR4-3200 for instance) where the system will hard-lock like that at pretty regular intervals. Runs fine without XMP on, so it might be worth checking into just to be sure.

You should run the latency monitor to determine If it is a software issue. This diagnostic software will tell you where to look. I had success with this. I also know that many have had the same problems as you due to the NVidia 373.xx driver. There is a lot of complaining about this particular driver.

Did I help you to fix your problem or at least did offer somewhat valuable advice? Consider giving my post a "informative" or "thumbs up".
