Hi guys, this is my first post on the comunity hope you can help me

so i have my old pc that already is about 5+ years old, but i really take care of this pc, so the pc works perfectly and this pc use my brother and my friends when they come to my house and you can actually play lots of games in medium details and even high in some cases with good fps

So this are the specs of the pc:
AMD Phenom x6 1055t 2.8GHz
EVGA GTX 560 2gb
Corsair Dominator 2x4gb 1600mhz ddr3
2x1tb WD black and 500gb seagate 7200rpm
Cooler master V6
Soundblaster recon 3d sound card
XFX PRO 650W Power supply

So the thing is that one of my friends is going to give me his AND 7990, and i know that this vga is way better than the gtx 560, but the problem is that the 7990 use a lot of power, and I do not know if it will work with my power supply

I think i know that you can deactive one gpu so the vga it is going to be like an 7970 that is already better then my gtx 560, but i really want to use the two gpus, I dont know using without any overclock or something like that

What do you think guys? it is going to work with the 2 gpus or i should use with only 1 gpu?

650W may be barely enough, but you will probably need more. I suggest you try the 7990 with your current psu and upgrade it if needed, you don't really risk anything if it's not enough.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

According to Anandtech, their setup with the HD 7990 took up about 550W. But their system had an overclocked i7-3960X. And it's likely they measured from the wall so it should use less. So you should still be fine with the power supply.

try playing games with load on the gpu and see if your wattage is enough.

if it doesnt shut down, you're fine.

With all things considered, you should be relatively fine with a solid 650W power supply.

The good ol' 7990. What a beautiful beast.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

You should be fine with that PSU, as long as you don't try and go crazy with overclocking, it will work A-OK.

I have the video card now, and it is an actual monster, I really had not realized how big it was until it was in front of my eyes, it is massive not to mention how heavy it is

So im going to test it now, and I tell them the results later

so here is the news

I uninstalled my old drivers with "Display Driver Uninstaller" then I put the vga and installed the latest drivers for the vga

So first I tried two games that are "Metal gear V" and "project cars" and they worked pretty well, but I realized that the games only used one of the gpus

So then I tried Fallout 4 that is quite a heavy game, and it is strange to explain what happened when i opened the game, so I opened the game, and I saw the tipical black screen when you open the game then when i started to hear the sound of the intro of the game, a pink screen of artifacts pop-up for like a second, and then black screen again, and here is the most strange think, all this ended on the log-in screen of windows 10, so i put my password, and I realized that all programs were closed, and when i tried to open the control panel of amd, and a error appeared saying that there is no video card recognized

After that i realized that the green LED that is on the top of the vga was red now, so i searched on google about this LED lights and I read that the green is when 1 gpu is in idle and the red is when is in like "Save energy power"

So i went to my BIOS and I disable the "GPU Power Saving mode" here I let the image if you wonder where was the option

http://image.prntscr.com/image/b50bca0a679f4b3aa2b62c506ac08671.png

After that, I was able to run most of the games that i have in this pc that they are, Fallout 4, battlefield 4, H1z1, project cars, metal gear v but they all use only one gpu and i know that battlefield 4 should use both

I dont know if that happen because i disable that option or there is something that i have to do or install to make it run the two gpus

Thanks for all the answers
