Hey LTT Forums! I'm helping a friend build a computer at a ~1200 USD budget. I've come up with two builds here, and am wondering which one would have better performance.

 

As a reference, my friend programs and is a CS major, and prefers to game on a 1080p monitor.

I5 will probs be better to not bottleneck to 1060

You need to add in the price for Windows in your builds. Its not a free software like linux, and linux will limit your ability to play many games where there software is not supported.
