Should I get a wireless adapter?

I currently am wired and I want to take my pc up to my room. However, the internet cannot reach there and the only option I have is to go wireless. But, I fell like if I go wireless my internet will get slower and also another thing is that i barely get wi-fi from my room.

Go with powerline instead. It's not quite as good as a hard Ethernet connection but it's loads better than WiFi if the wiring in your house isn't from 100 years ago.

Is it like buying a wi-fi extender and connecting it to the ethernet port on the device or is it something else? sorry I have no clue on what powerline is >.<

i also paired with NETGEAR AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi Router

if u have some extra money u can get this instead: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JUCUMBK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1Rosewill WiFi Adapter 802.11AC Dual Band AC1300 not sure if it will make much a difference

Basically what it boils down to is using your electrical lines in your house as Ethernet lines. Ethernet signal goes in to powerline adapter, travels through your electrical lines, goes to the other powerline adapter, and in to your computer.

Don't go wireless unless you have no choice, yes it's slower, it's also less reliable, especially if you barely get a signal in your room. It can be pretty good, but if you don't get a strong signal it's miserable.

Also, PCIe over USB. Never forget that, learned it from experience

Thanks for the advice. But, yeh, I barely get wi-fi from my room and that's why i'm reluctant to go wireless.

Maybe a better router? Or move it to a more central location?

Moving it is sadly, out of the question. My mom said she organized the cable and moving it will cause her more trouble. and as for a router I have this:https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-AC750-Wi-Fi-Gigabit-Router/dp/B00KFD0O0I/ref=sr_1_19?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1476590499&sr=1-19&keywords=netgear+router

It's just that the router in on the other side of the house and my room is basically the farthest room from it.
