if I run speed test on my phone close to my tv it slows to a crawl. I had my htpc and PS4 behind the tv same problem. The PS4 was unusable. Htpc has an extended USB antenna and functions fine.

could be. though if the tv has no internet connection because of not smart i assume then shouldn't be intefering
