Hey guys, i'm building a PC for the first time, and  I know I want a 1070. But the choice seems so daunting so I don't which one to get. I'm currently opting for a EVGA 1070 SC. Opinions on what to get??

The evga sc is a good one. It really doesn't matter TBH, any aftermarket cooler will perform well

I recieved my Palit Super Jetstream 1070 today and it has better temperature and noise levels than the EVGA 1070 cards that my friends have. It does take up 3 slots and the EVGA cards are also good, but if you can do both I'd pick the Palit card.

So threw a rollercoaster on my K'nex PC: Project Dragon Khan- K'nex rollercoaster PC build

After seeing the LTT review on the SC, it seems the value for money isn't the greatest for overclocking, but the cooler is pretty good.

I was originally looking at the SC for my new build, after seeing the numbers they got, I'm either going to ramp up to the FTW or just go with the standard card.  I'm faithful to EVGA for GPUs though, I've used their cards for the past 8 years and never had a problem, plus their customer service is amazing.

Pascal cards do not have that much head room for overclocking.

In the end it all comes to personal preference  (the looks of the card, the brand, warranty and stuff)

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Since It will always be the same chip the best one would be the cheapest that as OC potential if you don't mind temps. Also if you're about the budget and don't really care about overclocking a reference one should offer Very similar performances. (Just like Mi26 said and is pretty much absolutly right)

Unless you can get one of the more premium cards on sale, just get a more basic one.

I found a good deal on the STRIX OC 1070 and I love it.  It boosts up to 2037 mhz out of the box, and runs about 55 degrees!  Also extremely quiet and has RGB.

I like the G1 gaming card by gigabyte. It has some nice rgb LEDs and is clocked at a good speed.

You have 100-150$ price difference in 1070s cards, brands...

Is it worth paying 150$ more for a water cooled gpu that clock 50 mhz higher ? no. it will give 1-2-3% better performance, IMO really not worth it...

Take a good brand, with good factory OC if you dont plan to manualy OC and take the color you like :)

I ended up buying a basic Gainward 1070. Setting a custom fan profile through afterburner? and its completely quiet 95% of the time now.  and ok when there is action time. Im maxing out 165fps at 1440p with movie settings in WarThunder...

Thanks for the help.. im just replying so you can see that your comments was not overlooked and not in vain :D
