Bash/CMD option in Code tag

I think it'd be handy if the Code tag allowed to select Bash and CMD as a dialect. Does anyone agree?

Unfortunately, bash/batch aren't supported by the syntax highlighting plugin (codemirror and google prettify would both need to support it), so it's not possible.

Not really - aside from the fact that languages like those are hard to define, because lots of words have special meaning sometimes, depending on what you have installed, it is also difficult to ensure that the changes don't get overwritten by regular software updates, which is part of the reason that the number of supported languages is currently very limited.

even notepad++ has difficulty making sense of batch (cmd) at times, tells something about the language doesnt it?

 

while i guess bash (linux) is a bit better, it is still not the kind of language where color is a necessity.
