Hey so I'm realtively new to PC gaming and I'm using steam for my games ( obviously ). So steam market doesn't let me sell things on the community market because I'm not using their mobile security thing. This morning when I tried to set it up steam told ,e that they couldn't send an SMS to my smartphone and I'm unable to fix this issue so I can't use the mobile security thing. Any advise about what I should do would be helpful thanks!

You can start a customer service ticket and the people at steam are very helpful, although can be slow.

The reason it can be a bit of a pain in the ass to get the mobile security (or steam app) working is because once you have it working that is kind of your main line of defense for your account. You end up authenticating any transactions and logins from that app.

That being said, your best bet is to start a customer service ticket, and be prepared to verify with a good amount of detail that it is indeed your account. To my knowledge there is nothing else you can do.

I lost my 12 year old steam account because I cannot prove that it is mine and had to make a new one about 5 years back :/ very upsetting
