I was digging through the shed the other day and found my mums old computer. I asked her if I could open it up and little did I know (the computer broke when I was 10 - probably 4 years ago) that there was a Radeon inside.

I was like OMJ this is so cool I didn't know we had a GOOD computer! Unfortunately, there was only 512MB of ram so that really stuffed me up.

So my question.

Is an old Radeon compatible with newer pcs? I don't want to get myself pumped up and find out that it doesn't work. otherwise I'll probably find an NVIDIA graphics card on EBay or something.

Thanks!

PS don't ask me what processor it had because I couldn't get the CPU cooling fan off. It was probably an Intel Pentium 4.

I will probably upgrade anyway. But it is always good to know.

So, does this mean I could use this old modem card I found hooked up to is as well? xD

It is but the old graphics card wont play modern games at a good frame rate. Also the reason that you cant get the cpu cooler of is probobly becuse the theraml paste dried up, just try to pull it a bit harder.

That's cool.

I was gonna get a new one so I could play my games but I have another computer and I want to put this graphics card in it. it is an old one.
