Helo guys,

I've been having plenty of trouble try to get this to work. I explain to you the situation. I have four drives in my system

  • SSD-Windows
  • HDD1-Windows file programs etc.
  • HDD2-Linux(hopefully)

I've been tring to instal linux on a completly different drive but it just doesnt work. The whole process is full of errors. I have tried disabling the safeboot and fastboot and the sata is booting in AHCI mode. I have tried with 32 and 64 bit OS (mine is 64). I get to a point in the install were I get a black screen(I tried nomodeset which get me a bit further). I cant start it in UEFI mode because Windows is installed in Legacy therefore I should have to make sure that Linux also is in Legacy mode. If i try on UEFi in the install process i get this error.

"Force UEFI Installation? This machines's firmware has started this installer in UEFI mode but it looks like there maybe existing operating systems already installed using BIOS compatibility mode, If you continue to install Debian in UEFI mode,it might be difficult to reboot into any BIOS-mode operating system."

I have tried to instal with the drives inpulgged both the sata and the pwoer leaving on the drive I want but that doesnt help either. I would apreciate some help I'm out of ideas.

Thanks

Bob
