Got a new PC and when I go to check the temps the motherboard is shown as 111°C and my CPU is shown as 21°C

When I put my hand inside my case and its cool air and and my motherboard doesn't feel hot or anything just a bit warm.. Should I be worried or is this just a faulty sensor

most mobos have more readouts for sensors than they actually *have* sensors, and depending on the physical setup of the "not hooked up" sensors, that's not an uncommon value.

i'd say that's just the software polling for a value that is *simply not there* if that makes sense.

well you can start thinking logically if that thin is rly on 111°C it should be alrdy dead... soo if its still working... there's nothing to worry about

VRM's can easily get that hot if the heatsink isn't good enough.

On an old AMD3 board I had it had 1 sensor that always read 120c no mater the duration of on time or anything. If you want to investigate further I would recommend using hwmonitor where it gives you a little more detailed temp sensors readout. If you want to live dangerously and I can't honestly recommend doing this but you can touch each heat sink on the board and it doesn't melt your finger then depending on where that sensor is it cant honestly be that high.
