Ok guys, so I recently got a new problem on my computer. When I play games, watch twitch or similar things my computer will kind of "jump" of the internet for a short moment. I don't know why, because it says it is connected when I take a look. It is bothering me because it causes my computer to exit matches in games. I dont know if it is software problems or hardware problems. I dont know if it occurs on other computers in the house, because nobody else watches livestreams or plays games (or anything else that needs a live connection at all times). Our tv has no problems, but it is connected via LAN, so I cant find out if it is the routers fault. Any suggestions?

Ps. My computer is connected via wifi

Make sure you're not too far away from the router. You may have a "good" quality connection according to the router according to windows, but if you're more than a couple rooms distance away from the internet source, you're bound to have issues with connection every once and a while.

Updating your wifi drivers could also help.

It has been working perfectly for a year by now. Started happening a couple days ago.

sounds like wireless packet drop (if connected wirelessly) which does happen data packets get corrupted and have to be resent. just get a long Ethernet cable and plug n play , should solve your issues if connected wirelessly.

Is there another solution? Ethernet is not possible.

You can try turning off your router for 10 seconds or so to powercycle it.

Then open up Command Prompt in all programs, right click it and run as administrator.

type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes, and press enter.

then "ipconfig /release" press enter, then wait a few seconds.

then "ipconfig /renew" press enter, wait a few seconds

Then close command prompt, then restart your computer. If the issue persists... welp i tried xD

Well, well, well... Tested if the problem was the router or my computer. Turns out that it probably is the router. I tried watching twitch on my laptop, and the same problem occured. I believe it is the router, and according to my dad we have had it for a long time. Maybe it is just getting old I guess.

if router has antenna,s , try moving them so they are at a right angle to client pc. this can effect signal strength. wired to router always best. also make sure no large electronic appliance in direct line between u and router  (ie fridge etc)
