I am considering getting two 10Gbe PCIe ethernet cards, SFP+ modules and fiber, mainly for my file server, which is in my shed.

I can't afford a 10Gbe switch, but I have an UnRaid server with a 2 gigabit connection to a switch in my shed.

Could I put the 10Gbe card in my UnRaid server and main PC, then bridge the connection on my UnRaid PC.

Then, my PC would access the network/internet through the 10Gbe fiber, UnRaid PC and gigabit connection back to the house.

Does UnRaid allow the bridging of network cards?

yep, in linux at least, IDK about unraid. Id suggest you just use plain linux, its much more flexible and free

Also this isnt 10G-BASE-T, Its 10G-BASE-SR.

The UnRaid box is my NAS, and unfortunatly I don't have space for another PC.

Thanks. I missed that.
