I am looking for a new 15in gaming laptop and I could use some advice. I want a good screen with good color accuracy and as thin as possible with a gtx 1070 while staying away from U processors.

I really like the Aorus x6 v5. It's .90 in thick, light, has a 1070 and a 6820hk, 256gb nvme drive + 1tb mechanical, 16gb ram (plus the per key rgb keyboard looks cool). $2400 usd it’s pretty pricey though and one review said that the screen wasn’t that great.

The Sager NP8153-S configured to match the Aorus would be $2059. It’s a bit thicker 1.13 in, heavier and a much smaller battery but looks compelling. Does anyone know if the screens are any good? I am having trouble finding reviews that detail the color gamut and response time.

Both do not have thunderbolt 3, should I really care?

Anyone have experience with the quality of either?

I really like the looks of the new Alienware 15 too, but it doesn’t have a numpad! I really want a numpad.

Any advice will be much appreciated, thanks!

I'd take the Aorus one, and please don't make the text so damn big next time.

The CLEVO, it's not a Sager, anyday.

^ uses the same screen. Specs in the link above

The Aorus one is hot and loud and the size of the battery is used to compensate for having no MUX switch. The Clevo will get better battery run times due to the ability to swap from GSync and Optimus whereas the Aorus is always in GSync dGPU on mode. So yes, the Clevo is an easy winner. HOWEVER, if you have an unlimited bank account, repasting the Aorus and benching it would be fun to see.

Also don't buy from Sager. Buy from LPC-Digital.
