Well, to start, let's make sure we spell-check our titles. :P

Audio quality could be better, but you can worry about that once you have enough money saved up to buy a better microphone. Don't worry about it being the number one priority.

The most prominent thing I noticed was the way you were pronouncing words. I think that you could try to exaggerate the way you say things a little bit more so the words are separated and clear. For example, at 0:29 you said, "...would be good for the community. I..." but it sounded more like, "...would be good for the communidy I..." (notice the d and the lack of period spacing the I.) Similar to if you were doing this professionally or if you were speaking to a crowd, you would try to speak clearly for everyone. An easy way to do this is to exaggerate the way your mouth moves when you say something.

I'm not sure what kind of style you want, but most news broadcasting companies (actually all news companies) refrain from voicing their opinion on the topics. That's one of the rules of broadcasting: never involve anything that could be biased or catered to you. This is also one of the reasons why people are complaining about modern news stations, some of them have supposedly been dropping "hints" on their opinions. If you voice your opinion it becomes more of a talkshow than a news channel. Just an FYI.

Spell check is the second partners fault, I can fix it lol. Audio quality I agree, he messed with my voice in audacity, my normal voice is much lower almost like a nerd, but I just use a 25$ headset. I do agree with the pronunciation as well I didn't even realize how bad it sounded until the final cut, its because I was trying to speak fast so I didn't blabber on and it kinda came together, will improve that. Hmm no bias? I figured that would be good to include but I could give it a try yea. Overall I knew we would have issues off the bat, I have a small gaming channel of 504 subs and its not super professional, mostly streams, and we just wnated to try branching out (he has a gaming channel with 1k) a bit and trying new things, people love news so I figured why not, sure there's plenty of other big tubers already doing it but its not like we can't try.

By all means include your opinion, often times that contributes to the ability to have conversation among your viewers. But what I'm saying, is that if you do, you shouldn't call it a "news" segment but more of a "talk show."

Take it easy and have fun. The more genuine you are, the more people will enjoy you, and the more viewers you will receive. This is the same way in business.

Thank you for the feedback!

One possible way to avoid any ethical complications about that is to simply slightly rename your segment.

You're calling it "Gaming News" - why not call it "Gaming News & Discussion" instead? That simple extra word will enable you to both report the news and then talk about it's implications and you how think it's relevant. Allowing you to say your personal opinions.

For me, at least, that'd be enough of a distinction from a purely "Games Journalism" perspective.

Overall it's a good start, however:

  • A couple of times in the video I was barely able to understand what you were saying
  • The audio quality could be improved
  • It sounded like you were running out of breath, take it a bit slower and it's probably gonna help for "point 1" too

Agreed - I'm gonna be honest. I didn't bother to watch the video. But taking the time to record the footage WITHOUT forcing yourself to talk at 100 miles per hour is a definite Pro.

Agreed, discussed all that with the first poster.

Yea sorry, I'm new to reading scripts, I normally rant and blabber on but that's obviously not professional.

Well, the person(OP?) talking in the video does a fairly good job at talking, not monotone etc. But one improvement that could be made is to be more clear when talking too fast. Sometimes he talks too fast and for example says 'bthis is just a guess' instead of 'but this is just a guess'  and 'would be good for thcommnty' into 'would be good for the community'. In other words, pace yourself and seperate some words because the person talks too fast to do that sometimes.

Yea 100% agree and yes it is my voice, as I said before I didn't even realize how blurred together my words were at times, I wasn't the one who finalized my voice in audacity it was my partner and he didn't mention it, however I should have re-checked. Anyway I plan to do a better job next time, I just try to talk fast because normally I ramble on and on if I don't, I'm also really new to reading from a script.
