How can we be sure that it was a "safe Note 7"?

"Safe" as in replaced Note 7's should have a black square on the sticker label on the box.

Apparently the one that started smoking on the plane was a "safe" version, but I'm not sure if that's been confirmed or not.

I will not be buying this phone anytime soon. This is sad, tho. I feel like it's a great phone. Well, unless the battery that seems to last less than my 2 years old Xperia z2.

I honestly think the whole thing has been sensationalized by the media and people trying to capitalize off of Samsung's mistakes.

Well, dont buy a Note 7 if your not one of the initial supporters. Plenty of just as good choices out there i suppose.

If you do, keep me updated with the 3 hours of SOT that MKBHD talked about (I was kinda shocked, actually)

We'll see, could possibly get it Saturday.  If it sucks I'll return it and let you know, if I don't respond I probably burned to death because it caught on fire.

I up-voted "funny" because I laughed but it's actually a pretty sad thing...

Yeah, the LTT community can be just about as bad as the media at times.  We like to keep drama fresh by continually recycling the same story.  :D

Seems like it's the only accident so far with new notes. Smartphones before(iphone *) used to catch on fire in very rare occasions. Could be that that note was one of those very rare accidents

I was generally concerned there for a moment. The way my screen was set up I didn't read the Xperia z2 and just read 2 year old.

Samsung is yet to give statement about this new issue that emerged. Though really sucks this thing with batteries happened.

Really wish to know the main reason, what is just cheap battery making process or bad control or something else.
