Hey guys! I'm curious on a few things.

I tried live streaming on my laptop last month but ran into an internet issue and cancelled.. Now I was planning to try it again, but I also wanted to keep the performance of my laptop to its max. I've mainly used OBS, but it used a bit more CPU power than I hoped and I think it could cause a slight bottleneck if I've tried streaming a game like League of Legends.

So I started wondering, could it be possible for me to use a capture card on my laptop? Or should I just use the settings OBS recommends and tinker with them until I have optimal performance?

What should I do?

My laptop's specs aren't really much, but its actually surprisingly capable and are as follows.

-Specs-

Screen - 1366 x 768 60Hz

CPU - Intel Celeron @ 2.16GHz

GPU - Intel HD Bay Trail M

RAM - Hyundai 4GB 800-1333 GHz

HDD - ???

Really?
How would I be able to use it?? I've never seen a capture card used for a laptop.

Its USB device. With some input and output options. Cheaper ones have only HDMI, but Elgato for example has ones with composite video too for older consoles. If you are just recording or streaming from laptop, you only need to select capture card as encoder or use provided software. If you are recording from external source, connect external to capture card and from card to monitor.
