Halp with settings

If anyone has the same rig as me I would appreciate it if you could tell me the settings you use for GTA V I always have terrible framerates and would like to fix it

my GTX970 is very similar. 

At 1080p i can pretty much max out almost everything except MSAA and some Advanced settings.

I see well there must be something wrong because my game runs good about 60 FPS but there are frequent drops and stutters

Well 60fps is all you need. The CPU might be a problem as GTA is VERY CPU intensive. Have you monitored the CPU usage ingame?

Afterburner can do this for you

Is probably CPU as people mentioned being a bottleneck.

tried it and it was only at about 75% usage

Well there you go. Total usage does not need to be 100 to be bottleneck. It can even happen in certain games if 1 core is maxed out. Don't understand, my 72 xeon cores have only 2% load, o shit the game is using one max and is bottlenecked

 

Anyway, don't play it myself, but maybe if you change some videosettings you might improve fps.

Your CPU is most likely being raped. It's only on that "low" usage because the 100% of CPU1 are being split into 8 pieces essentially.

You can enable seeing the load of every core in afterburner aswell though.

1440p,2x MSAA, advanced settings off, post process off, shadows "medium" "sharp", tectures max, anistropic max,lightning max, water max, view distance max, but pop variety minimum.

 

around 70-90 fps
