Help configuring 2nd Graphics card - PC BSOF when 2nd GPU connected

these are my specs

CPU - 2500k @ 4.5Ghz(can go upto 4.8Ghz if needed)

GPU (new) - HD7970 DC2

GPU (old) - HD6870

MOBO - ASUS P8Z77V

PSU - Corsair CX600M

Windows 8

this has 3, 16x slots that will run at 8x,8x,4x when in use.

i have taken out the old GPU and have put in the new one and all is fine.

what i want to do is let the HD6870 fold even when im gaming or doing something else.

but the problem is as soon as put the old GPU on the second(8x) slot the PC BSOD as soon as it boots in to windows. not sure what is causing the error. it give a error code saying some thing about ".....exception not handled...." <----- i will edit this post as soon as i get that error again.

so is there any way to fix this ?

and if im posting this in the wrong section please let me know.

thank.

dont think so this is about a problem with a gpu not about folding :)

but for the problem like you said post the error code and the .dump file and try using diferent pci slots and try using the 6870 in combo with new one but use the 6870 as primary

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough it will be believed.

ehm that might be the wrong dmp file (my fault) so could you look around in c:\windows if there is a file named blabla.dmp AND have you un-installed the vid driver and reinstalled it ????
