So simple question but cant find anyone asking this on forums.

So can I use a mini-display port to hdmi cable on a 7990? I figure it would work since its just hdmi and mini-display port are similar to my understanding.

Its for my second monitor that 1920 by 1080.

Something like this for example:

Dont see any reason as to why not.

Thats what I thought but just want to make sure or see if anyone else have ever used them.

Trying to find something easy because all these adapters for the two type of dvi and active and passive. I get confused. lol

If you have reached the limit of Monitors you can connect via a passive DP, you need to make sure, that the Cable is active though! I personally, to make sure everything works, would go with a active miniDP to SL-DVI and then connect a DVI to HDMI cable. Downside: No audio transmittance.. But i mean for 6$ you should give it a shot.

I only have two monitors. My main monitor is connected via a hdmi cable to the hdmi to dvi adapter going into the card.

My second is a tv that I watch movies and stuff on. It only has hdmi and vga connections.

So yeah for 6$ Im going to give the cable a shot, if it doesn't work then hell I have a cable for my laptop to connect to my other tv.
