I don't regret purchase my HTC 10 earlier this year. Boom Sound and expandable storage ftw! I'm really liking the 5 inch 1080p combo on the smaller Pixel, tho.

Well, now that it has officially launched - I am officially disappointed.

 

I've been having a lot of struggles with my Galaxy S6 and have been looking/waiting for a replacement. I was hoping the new nexus..err pixel would be it - but there really isn't anything special to it, charging premium flagship prices with delivering less than stellar features.

 

Sure it has the latest mobile cpu - That really isn't a surprise based on the release date.

 

Sure it has "unlimited" google cloud space for pictures/video - This is cool...unless you are like me and choose NOT to store every person picture/video on cloud - There is a reason it is free, in the same way facebook is free - You are the product to be sold. Google will happily give you all the space in the world for your pictures/videos. The premium they charge selling that data to companies far exceeds the cost for their hard drive/network costs.

 

Still no expandable storage, despite price surge

Still charging over $100 CAD to go to high storage (With no 64gb option, which truthfully should be the "lower end" model, not 32gb)

Still using Corning Gorilla Glass 4 when Glass 5 is available 

 

And my biggest gripe - IP53 water resistance. What the bork google? If you are now charging flagship premium prices, and trying to compete with Samsung and Apple - You need to do better. I had high hopes for this device, but it looks like i'll be buying a Note7 if the "fixed" versions would stop blowing up on airlines...

Gorilla glass 5 is less scratch resistant then GG4, it is though more shatter resistant. I personally prefer GG4, I never drop my phones.
