yes, extensions are compatible with all PSUs, and are generally cheaper

the downside is that they take up more room

custom cables are dependent on your PSU, and usually cost more and have a higher level of customization

Extensions are always compatable. Doesn't matter if you have a $200 PSU or a $30 one, a 24 pin is a 24 pin, an 8 pin is an 8 pin and so on. Extensions are usually cheaper, however they create more cable clutter in the back of the case as there is now more cable length to have to deal with.

Hey man, extensions are all compatible! So for instance a 24 pin extension will extended every 24 pin PSU cable. Custom cables are better cause they can be done to custom lengths and tend to look much cooler IMO, also extentions create a lot of bulk that u have to manage, I personally prefer custom cables over extensions. Hope this helps man!!!
