I've been searching for years... running out of food, water, as nature takes its course.

Well, maybe I over-exaggerated a little bit... Okay. I exaggerated a lot. :D

Anyways, I've been looking for a 1440p monitor under $300-350 with a refresh rate higher than 60hz and I just can't find one. Right now, I've chosen the AOC U2879VF 28.0" 60Hz Monitor, which is a really good 4K monitor for the price. Of course, 4K with high refresh rates is expensive, so not going to get one of those anytime soon.

Note: G-sync over high refresh rates is also good, but... I don't think there is one in my price range.

75 Hz, but you can also get overclockable monitors cheaper, but the build quality won't be as good.

At 60hz your options are good.

Above 60hz your options are extremely limited.

I run three of these, they're good all around, but ghosting can be an issue if you're into very fast paced fps games like csgo. Its labeled as a 75hz panel, but I can tell ye right now that's not true. It can be overclocked to around 75hz, but that's a pain in the ass to do with this particular panel. And even when done that way most programs will still detect it as a 60hz because yea. So don't be fooled, it is definitely NOT a 75hz panel.

Then the non-ips version

Your options though with refresh above 60hz are...

Nothing. There is nothing in that price range above 60hz. What you're looking for doesn't exist yet.

there is another option:

QNix is a company that takes discarded Apple and Samsung displays, fixes them, and sells them as off-grade monitors. you can get an overclockable 27" 1440p for about $200, but there is a chance there will be 3-5 dead pixels. for more you can get one with no dead pixels, but, honestly, 3-5 isnt much to worry about on a 1440p display.

overclockable monitors are ont what they sound like. an overclockable monitor is a monitor that allows the GPU to control its refresh rate. I'm running a QNix 1440p 27" at 91 Hz right now.

You can find them on Newegg, I have the 271 LED (or something like that)

I mean, I have one, no dead pixels. you can soend more for a PixelPerfect one.

but yeah, higher refresh rates, you have 3 options: don't do it, spend lots of money or get a cheap overclockable one. I can understand the hesitation.

After not finding a 1440p IPS or G-sync monitor in my price range, I opted to look for 1440p 144hz and 4K 60hz. These are my choices:

BenQ XL2730Z 27" 1440p TN Freesync 144hz 1ms $283 Used, No bad pixels

Monoprice 27" 1440p IPS 60hz $299 New, Pixel Perfect Basically eliminated

QNIX QX2710 27" 1440p PLS 60hz(overclock to 120hz) $259 New, Pixel Perfect $179 Open Box, Pixel Perfect

ASUS PB277Q 27" 1440p TN? 75hz 1ms $333 New Basically eliminated

ASUS PB278Q 27"1440p IPS 60hz? $300 New @Walmart... Basically eliminated

AOC Q2778VQE 27" 1440p TN? 60-75hz?(different sources) 1ms $289 New Basically eliminated

AOC U2879VF 28" 4K TN(under saturated color, but people report tweaking settings will get it right) 60hz $299 New CURRENT CHOSEN MONITOR

Samsung U28E590D 28" 4K TN(but supposedly not bad color) $363 New A little too expensive... but... if I have to

Any other suggestions are welcome, and thanks in advance for the feedback! Didn't link the monitors because some of them are on different websites.

Is that a guaranteed overclock?

I believe so. The monitor has been out for years and people have been doing it for a long time.

Go for ips and thank me later

I know a lot of people say that. I used to be like that too. However, there are some good TN panels that look rather nice. Can't just decide because of that.
