My father passed away in June and my family is still going through his things and we found his Galaxy tablet. The problem is the password we thought he had on it is not working. Does anyone know a way to reset the password or get around it somehow?

i am very sorry for your loss, the only way i know is to factory data reset it, but it would erase all the data.

Sorry for your loss.

If you are used to flashing custom roms and recoverys you can go to XDA and download a file manager for recovery then flash it and locate the lock files and delete them. Reboot and it will be unlocked. YOU WILL LOSE WARRANTY AND COULD BRICK YOUR DEVICE. DO AT YOUR OWN RISK

 

However if you cannot risk it then go to a Samsung store with proof of purchase and proof that you're the owner and they should unlock it for you
