Wut

and tech of tomorrow didn't say if it was in Quiet mode or not soooo.....

He reposted the Tom's benchmarks, which we know were in quiet mode. The benchs themselves have the Tom's watermark right on them.

First, both games are AMD optimized games, so it's little one sided benchmarks, second, R9 290x should be compared to Titan & not to GTX 780.

First, both games are best optimized for AMD cards, so it's little one sided benchmarks, second, R9 290x should be compared to Titan & not to GTX 780.

Why? 780 is closer in price and is their "flagship" of the 700 series. You wouldn't compare a Titan to a Tesla, so why should this card be compared to a card that is almost $300 more than it and is outside of the mainstream series for a reason?

Cause it was supposed to be a Titan killer (all I read everywhere people were talking about it). If it's not supposed to be a Titan competitive card, then which card AMD has against Titan? And don't say 7990, cause it's dual GPU card. Or they still don't have it?

If it beats a 780, which is already pretty close to performance to a titan, that means it's even closer in performance to a Titan AND costs almost $300 dollars less. 780 was already pretty close to a Titan killer in and of itself, if this beats it I don't see why that's not a Titan killer.

pretty close doesn't count. They should compare it to Titan and also as I already said, these benchmarks are biased, as they tested those cards on AMD optimized games only. However I agree with you that it's better budget card (if it costs almost 300$)

Of course it counts, it's a $300 USD price difference between the cards, even if the Titan beats it by 2-3 FPS how does that possibly justify a near 40% price difference?

Sometimes it's not always about the price. People were waiting for Titan killer, something better that gonna overpower Nvidia, but as I see it didn't happen. By the way, don't forget that it doesn't have Physx, but of course you'll say PhysX is nothing as an true AMD fan.

I'll say Physx is nothing because 90% of games dont support it. TressFX, the AMD competitor to physx, is also nothing because it has such little support. It doesn't matter how cool the tech is if no one uses it.

several other threads about it.

So, until the price, specs and benchmarks are released for the GTX 780 Ti everything you're arguing don't mean diddly.

Until all the cards are on the table, arguing about price and performance is kinda pointless.

performance will be between a 780 and a titan, Nvidia is pretty predictable that way. more importantly that card was announced the day after these specs came out, unless you expect toms hardware and AMD to have a time machine they're still plenty valid. \

By this same logic the 780 ti doesn't mean anything, Maxwell is coming in 2014.

Well it is amazing for games that have it activated, so I wouldn't say it's nothing.

Whats funny is the OP didn't read the article completely. The article states plainly, "If these benchmarks prove to be the real deal..." You can't say they are legit, if the article isn't sure. Just sayin.

these were released by tom's hardware with AMDs permission. theyre real.

I am only quoting the article in question. One test doesn't equal automatic assumption of dominance. They probably can beat it in most area's, I'm more looking for the Titan tests since the card was meant to be a "Titan Killer". And more then just a 4k test, because lets be honest, how many gamers do you know that are going to be gaming on 4k. Oh, and you know, not on AMD optimized games only. You run it across a battery of games to see how it REALLY preforms.

What I call one test? WAG. Its a real scientific term. :P (Okay, not really).
