YOU NEED Z170 MOBO your i5 6600k. You can't overclock your cpu on mobo that is not Z170.

You don't need one. You would want one, but it's not a necessity.

Also, PCPartpicker says "The BitFenix Prodigy (Blue) Mini ITX Tower Case supports video cards up to 317mm long, but video cards over 177mm may block drive bays. Since the MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING X Video Card is 277mm long, some drive bays may not be usable."

So essentially your 3.5 inch HDD might not be able to be in its caddy.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

So I'm building my first PC with a mini itx form factor. I orgininally wanted a Cosair 380t but can't find on in stock any where. So going to use the bitfenix prodigy. These are my parts are they all compatible? Thanks Connor

looks good, but I'd change a few things:

1. Blue case with red RAM and GPU...?

2. I'd get a 240GB Sandisk over that SSD

3. as @PCNoobiestated, if you want to overclock, you need a Z170 motherboard, if not, get the i5 6500 instead to save some money.

4. I'd recommend the Cryorig C7 or Hyper 212 EVO over that CPU cooler, but it's not that big a deal.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

I can confirim that you do need a Z170 chipset to overclock. with older operating systems and BIOSs, it has been possible in the past, but no longer.

I've taken a look at the photo, and to me they look like 2.5in drive bays. But if they're 3.5in, you would definitely be able to fit them there. I just can't really tell (I've only worked with dell computers for the past year or so)
